The Sandra Wong, Dominick Leslie, Ty Burhoe Trio will appear in concert at The Performance Space on May 4th, 2012 at 7 PM.

Tickets are $15 and available at www.talarecords.com or at the door.

Sandra Wong, Dominick Leslie and Ty Burhoe come together in an unusual trio combination of nyckelharpa/fiddle, mandolin and tabla/world percussion to explore music from all corners of the globe, including their own compositions; from Bach to Shakti to Swedish Folk and Modern Bluegrass. Having made their trio concert debut at the Caramoor International Music Festival July of 2010, the project continues to gain both momentum and depth. Reaching into their individual roots of Classical Western, Classical Indian, Bluegrass, Jazz, Scandinavian, Old-time American music and more their arrangements honor each tradition while moving into new, unchartered territory.

Whether it’s old-time tunes in 7, Bach on nyckelharpa, mandolin and tabla, Swedish tunes from hundreds of years ago brought into a 21st century arrangement or Shakti revisited; Sandra, Dom, and Ty create a musical playground for everyone (both musicians and listeners) to explore, play, stretch, and grow in a joyful space.

Dominick Leslie and Sandra Wong released a collaborative album, Sunny Side Up in July of 2010 featuring guest artists Ty Burhoe, Grant Gordy, Eric Thorin, Jayme Stone and Ian Hutchison which is receiving excellent reviews from listeners. You can hear the trio in a live concert recording at www.FestivalLink.net. Sandra, Dom, and Ty all collaborate with numerous world class musicians and each tour nationally and internationally.

Giving back to our planet and supporting organizations working to create a more sustainable world for all beings; human and animal alike, and practicing responsible stewardship of our planet earth is a priority for the trio. A percentage of all ticket and CD sales go to support 1% for the planet and other organizations with this focus, all with top ratings from the Charity Navigator.

You are invited to join Sandra, Dom, and Ty for an evening of music at The Performance Space. For information, go to www.theperformancespace.com.

Senayit Sunday, September 18 at 7 pm

From the White Mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont emerges Senayit, a trio capable of guiding its listeners on an intimate journey by awakening a tribal and grounding energy. Front woman and main songwriter, Senayit Tomlinson, was born to create a distinctive and far-reaching life and sound. A woman of Ethiopian heritage, Senayit was raised in New York City and grew up on 80s pop, as well as traditional Chinese, Indian and Hatian music by way of her cultural family. She later studied in Indonesian gamelan music during college. Her sound today, however, is far from chaotic; her dynamic range, vocal expression and poetic style weave an eclectic, even wild thread of sound throughout her honest and accessible lyrics.

Michael Ramirez on bass and Isaac Luxon on drums and percussion complete the trio of Senayit. With a host of musical performance groups under his belt, as well as sound and lighting experience at venues across the country, Michael brings to the group an insatiable urge for experimentation with sound. Isaac, apprentice to master luthier George Morris and lead guitar player for reggae bands groove Shoes and Mo Ambesa, offers his invaluable lyrical style of drumming, attributed to his natural ear and training in instrumental music.

Recent collaboration with interdisciplinary artist JMoney Fur has allowed the trio of Senayit to tap into its wealth of talents in various performing arts and visual media. Incorporating video, puppetry, and various multi-dimensional arts, Senayit envelopes you to the point of a visceral, physical connection. It is not just music for your soul but something that is happening to you, around you, and never quite leaves you.

Chuck Pyle in Concert

The Eldorado House Concert Series and Santa Fe Performance Exchange present Chuck Pyle, the Zen Cowboy.

Saturday, February 5, at 7 p.m.  Doors open at 6:30 at  Santa Fe Performance Exchange in the La Tienda shopping center in Eldorado.

Cost:               $15 advance/$17 at door.  Click here for tickets.

Chuck Pyle has won high praise from both fans and peers alike throughout an inspired performance career of over 40 years. When reviewers first gave him the “Zen Cowboy” moniker, he decided to, as he says, “Always ride the horse in the direction it’s going,” and took the nickname to heart, shaving his head and blending his upbeat perspective with old-fashioned horse sense. He mixes infectiously hummable melodies with straight-from-the-saddle poetry, quoting bumper stickers, proverbs, world leaders and old cowboys.

An accomplished songwriter, Chuck’s songs have been recorded by John Denver, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Suzy Bogguss. Country fans know him best for writing, “Cadillac Cowboy”, recorded by the late Chris LeDoux, and “Jaded Lover”, recorded by Jerry Jeff Walker.
